#RCKIBTuesdayMeeting - November 9, 2021

Last night members and guests of Rotary Club Kyiv International Business, all being fully vaccinated, met again at Radisson Blu Hotel.

Among the truly delightful moments of the evening were the pinning of our new member Sergiy Benedysyuk and the presentation by our guest Yuriy Tokarski on Junior Achievement (JA).

JA Europe, Europe’s largest provider of education programmes for Entrepreneurship, Work Readiness and Financial Literacy for young people, recently launched JA Ukraine.

It was indeed inspiring to hear how quickly the JA Company Programm, which offers students the opportunity to learn how to move a business idea from concept to reality and supports development of key competences for lifelong learning, was well-received in Ukraine, and how actively teachers and business volunteers commit themselves to make it grow in the best way.

Traditionally, the official part was followed by the cordial get-together with a little buffet and beverages, leaving room for a thought on lifechanging cooperations.

World Immunisation Week 2021 - April 24 - April 30

This week is a #WorldImmunizationWeek!

Rotary knows firsthand that #VaccinesWork.

Since 1988, through the science of immunization, Rotary & partners have saved nearly 19 million children from becoming paralyzed by polio. Today only two countries continue to report cases of polio caused by the wild poliovirus: Afghanistan and Pakistan.

COVID19 reminds us that disease outbreaks anywhere can be a threat everywhere, and that fighting diseases requires global solidarity. That’s why RotaryEndPolio is committed to lending its tools, workforce & surveillance network to help countries respond COVID19, as well as to end the threat of polio for every child, everywhere.

Did you know that:

  • Because #VaccinesWork, Rotary & partners have reduced polio cases by 99.9% worldwide since 1988.

  • Today only two countries continue to report cases of polio caused by the wild poliovirus: Afghanistan and Pakistan. Still, no child anywhere is safe until we’ve vaccinated every child. Unless we eradicate polio, within 10 years, as many as 200,000 new cases could occur around the world each year.

  • In countries where polio is a threat, kids’ pinkies are marked with purple ink after they’re immunized, helping #EndPolio health workers know which kids are protected.

  • The systems created to deliver polio vaccines to the hardest-to-reach areas of the world are helping #EndPolio workers find COVID19 cases, trace contacts & provide info on how to slow the spread of the virus

  • Amidst a challenging 2020 year for global health, the WHOAfro region was still certified wild polio-free because #VaccinesWork! (Learn how Rotary #EndPolio helped achieve this milestone: endpol.io/afro20)

#EndPolioNow won't stop until we end the disease for good.

RCKIB coming afloat: Founding General Meeting held!

On Thursday, December 3 we have held the General Meeting with 22 founding members, unanimously resolving for the foundation of Rotary Club Kyiv International Business, its Charter, and the organs of the Club.

"We will use our best efforts to successfully start and support life of RCKIB in an optimal way under the constrains induced by COVID-19" - said Alfred F. Praus, President of RCKIB.

"Since we all volunteered to serve in Rotary, one should probably not reiterate on the value of individual effort: compassion, empathy and servitude. Let us imagine what this group of diverse, bright and accomplished individuals can achieve as a team or teams. And so let us think how we deploy that plethora of human capital to optimally benefit ourselves, Rotary International and society at large." - continued Constantine Lukianets, Treasurer of RCKIB.

So, the legal process has been launched and we aim at passing all registration procedure by the end of 2020.

Now we are starting our club life with regular meetings.
